The Practice was established in 1986 by Andrew Turner, and has expanded to provide a nucleus of professionally qualified, widely experienced surveyors, project co-coordinators and negotiators. Our ethos recognises the requirement to treat each project and commission as unique, providing Clients with a tailored approach to suit their individual desires and to be flexible enough to adapt to difficulties and specific requirements.
We take great pride in obtaining the majority of our work by reputation and recommendations from our involvement on previous projects.
For a medium sized consultancy the Practice covers a wide range of projects both in size and type of projects ranging from £150k to £15 m. Projects vary from alterations and extensions to existing buildings to handling major new build and refurbishment projects involving the highest quality of finishes. Many of the properties with which we are involved are listed structures requiring specialist knowledge and attention.
Whatever the scale of the project, from simple to complex construction, refurbishment of listed buildings, maintenance works, fire damage assessments, to specialist contracts, this Practice will provide the expertise to meet those specific requirements.
We maintain a personalised service and genuine approach on all projects, maintaining the closest liaison with clients. We endeavour to work closely with Clients at an early stage, to understand their needs, offer cost certainty during the course of the project and provide added value. We have a strong desire to work with interesting, unique buildings.
We recognise the complexities of building, the investment involved, and the desire to achieve space requirements along with the essential standards and quality. We offer every assistance in providing the completed project to our Clients, within the parameters of cost and time, ensuring that maximum value for money is achieved.
Project Management is now an integral part of the design and construction process. We recognise the requirement for all members of the design team to perform effectively and within time constraints. Our role of Construction Cost Managers has expanded to embrace Project Management and Employer’s Agent roles, bringing about more timely construction with improved working methodology.
Our clients expect us to provide a proactive management role enabling projects to be moved forward swiftly, ensuring that they start as soon as possible and more essentially complete on time.
We recognise the cost of building disputes, with associated legal costs, and always endeavour to prevent contractual disagreements avoiding arbitration or litigation. We have always aimed to negotiate settlement of our contracts without the need for arbitration or legal redress between client and contractor.
The Practice operates from the Harefield office, Uxbridge, situated closely to the M25 and A40 giving extremely easy access both to and from London.
